That Special Spot I Fell In Love With
I can remember the first time we met. I just had a huge fight with my now ex and since I could not handle being in the same house with him anymore, I took my handbag and left. It was raining heavily but I was determined to get away from him. It was the first time I had managed to walk away from him and a part of me was proud of myself. I was crying, not because of the fight, but because of the time, I had wasted with him and the emotional scars I had collected over the years. He was a narcissist and for a year, I came up with a plan to leave him. That day the things he said to me were the last straw.
As I was walking down the street, I noticed a car following me. I wasn’t in the mood to talk and so I ignored him. The stranger drove past me and parked a few meters from me. Be then walked out into the rain and came towards me. Despite my protest, he held my hand and took me to his car. While there, he handed me his jacket and warned me against walking in the rain. Since then, we became good friends and had been helping me undo the damage my ex-boyfriend did to me. As time went by, we grew into something more than just friends. Jude had been good to me throughout. I spent a lot of time waiting for the other shoe to drop but that never came. He would open the door for me, pull my chair at the restaurant, and do other things. I didn’t know that I would ever find someone like him.
One evening, Jude came to my place of work and surprised me. I didn’t know that he’d be back so soon. My day had been terrible because of my ex who had been harassing me day and night and when I saw him everything changed. I hugged him and buried my head into his chest as he wrapped his hands around me. He informed me that he would take me home to freshen up because there was something he wanted to show me.
We went to my apartment and I jumped into the shower as he waited for me in the living room. I didn’t take long to prepare. Since I didn’t know where we were going, I settled on a casual look. I took out my navy blued dress which hugged my body at the top and was free and made of shevon on the bottom. The upper part was fitted with navy blue pearls and covered everything except my shoulders and neck. It was knee-high and I paired it up with a pair of black doll shoes. I couldn’t reach the zipper so I went downstairs to ask Jude for help. The look he gave me made me believe that I was the most beautiful woman in the world. He watched as I walked down the stairs and gave him my arm. He then turned me around so that I was facing him and held my waist and pulled me to him.
“You are beautiful.” He whispered in my ears and I shivered.
“Thank you,” I replied in a low tone I showed him my zipper and he began working on it. His warm hands touched my bare skin and I closed my eyes in enjoyment. He then pulled my hair to one side and kissed my shoulder and neck before pulling up the zipper and putting my hair back into position. My heart was racing and wishing for more. I then turned around, wrapped my hands around his neck, and took his lips into mine. The kiss was short, reassuring, and steamy.
Once we were done, we got into his car and drove off. I still didn’t know where we were going until we reached the next city. He took me to one side of a building and parked in front of the building. It was magnificent but I didn’t understand what was happening.
“Do you remember, when you used to tell me your dreams about opening your bakery in this city?” He asked and I nodded.
“Well, this is it, I bought this building for you and it is fully equipped with everything you will need. We will have to move here but it will be good since you will be getting away from that psycho.” He said. My tears were streaming down my eyes because I could not believe what was happening. It was everything I ever dreamt of. How had my luck turned around? How was I ever going to repay him? I was lost for words.
